2010-11 SCMEA FESTIVAL FALL GENERAL SESSION MEETING will be on Tues. Sept. 14, 2010, 4:00 pm @ Gregori HS. Gregori HS is Modesto City Schools 7th High School and is located at 3701 Pirrone Rd., Modesto, CA (Map to Gregori HS). Snacks and soft drinks will be provided.
The 2011 SCMEA Festival weekend will be Fri. Jan. 28 - Sat. Jan. 29 @ the MJC Auditorium. Due to the success of last years format we will be keeping it the same for this year: Fri. Jan. 28 (evening) - Jr. High & HS Choir Sat. Jan. 29 (early afternoon) - Jr. High & HS Orchestra Sat. Jan. 29 (evening) - Jr. High & HS Band
Audition dates and music will be posted very soon.
CMEA FESTIVALS Registration for all CMEA Festivals will once again be done through SoloChair.com and will begin on Wed. Sept. 15, 2010.
CMEA JAZZ FESTIVAL, Sat. Jan. 15 or 22 @ TBA The exact location of the Jazz Festival will be posted immediately upon confirmation of facilities.
CMEA SOLO & ENSEMBLE FESTIVAL, Sat. March 5 @ CSU Stanislaus Once again, Dr. Davies will be hosting the Solo & Ensemble festival down in Turlock at CSU Stanislaus. This festival fills up fast so please register ASAP stating Wed. Sept. 15 on Solochair.com.
CMEA CHORAL FESTIVAL, Fri. Sat., March 25 & 26 @ Downey HS Auditorium This festival has been on hiatus for the past couple of years and we REALLY want to bring it back. It has been cancelled due to lack of festival entries. We are hoping to change that this year. Please plan on attending this choral festival, I have spoken to a few choir directors and they are excited about having this choir festival so close to home and at a wonderful facility like Downey HS.
CMEA BAND & ORCHESTRA FESTIVAL, Fri. & Sat. May 6 & 7 @ Downey HS Auditorium This festival was a great success last year. Lots of good groups, wonderful facilities all contained within the same performing arts building.
